Ford's Model T Changed the World

The 100th Anniversary is Oct 1, 2008.

October 1, -- This is the actual day the "first customer" received the keys to a brand new Model T. The Model T is the car credited with "putting the world on wheels." Henry Ford's iconic vehicle, which officially brought the world into the age of the "horseless carriage," also is responsible for hundreds of innovations that jumpstarted the automotive industry as we know it today.

It established a minimum wage and the eight-hour work day.

It is sighted as establishing the "middle-class" thanks to the $5.00 a day wage.

The Model T started the customization trend which is now a $38 billion dollar industry annually.

It stands as the industry's truly first global car. By 1921 it account for almost 57% of the world's automobile production.

The Model T standardized the left-hand steering wheel. Before the Model T cars had steering wheels on the right, left and center of the front seat

When it was introduced in 1908 it sold for $825. By 1925, it sold for on $260.00
