Up to Produce Do-It-Yourself, Cost Savings Auto Body Work Video
Swansea, MA (December 2008) Brenton Productions, Inc.,
long-time producers of Two Guys Garage and TRUCK U on SPEED, has partnered with
3M and BONDO, a division of 3M, to produce a “How To” video guiding
do-it-yourselfers through the process of doing their own body work.
In this approximately 25 minute video, Sam Memmolo,
host of Two Guys Garage and master mechanic, takes the viewer through a
step-by-step process of repairing a dented hood to the point of getting it ready
for paint. The cost, at a typical collision repair center, was estimated from
$900 to $1,200. Memmolo and crew purchased everything needed to repair the hood
from a local parts store for approximately $100—a dramatic cost savings.
“Typically, most DIY’ers will change their oil, replace spark plugs and rotate
tires, as well as tackle other smaller automotive repairs,” Memmolo explained.
“But they usually will shy away from body work. Through a step-by-step
demonstration, 3M educates the DIY’er that this type of repair project can be
just as doable and satisfying as any other home-based automotive project with
products purchased at their local auto parts store.”
Using BONDO™ and a combination of other 3M products, Memmolo takes the viewer
through each basic step of repairing the dented hood. There is also a segment
demonstrating how to repair rust perforation on a fender.
BONDO products are designed for the auto body repair enthusiast, and are widely
recognized as industry standards.
